Born in '74 in the North East of England where he lived until his early twenties, when he moved south to Oxford and London. In '05 he went to France, where he lived for six years exhibiting both paintings and jewellery. Now back in the UK, he lives in Cumbria on the edge of the Lake District.
Self-taught in almost everything he does, as well as making jewellery he also sculpts, paints and makes prints. Believing that his art is but a reaction, he doesn't like to be penned in, and so instead is constantly learning, developing and experimenting with new subjects, techniques and materials.
Mark believes in craft in art, and the Ruskinesque Arts and Crafts ideals opposing the division of labour. He often references classical works and is inspired by traditional ideas and techniques. When not creating art he likes to build and ride custom motorcycles and simply to "have a good time."
